Here it is, my first graphics tablet. I really didn't know what to expect, and I admit I had many doubts.
How was I going to draw if I had to write on the tablet, and look at the screen?
Could I use it for something other than drawing?
What the heck is a graphics tablet?
Instead of researching it, I was just given one. (Hoorah!)
Trying It Out
It cam out of the box, and it looked like a very fancy, shiny, new piece of technology. That's exactly what it is. Somehow, this tablet manages to recognize down to a single gram of pressure, and senses the pen when you hold it about 2 cm above the tablet. I can control the cursor by moving the pen.
Here's the weird part... The pen, has NO BATERIES.
How in the world???
I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm sure I will.
Drawing
Drawing with a graphics tablet is hard. Really, really hard. But it can be done. Just don't expect to rock at it right out of the box. I made that mistake.
Here's my first drawing attempt.
Yuck. Just plain Yuck.
So I looked it up, and apparently graphics tablets are very hard to draw with. That wasn't very helpful, I had already figured that out, But it also said that tablets are very good for coloring.
Coloring Steps (According to this person)
1)Draw a rock your socks off drawing
2)Scan it, and open an image editing program like photoshop.
3)Pick a color.
4)Make magic.
Okay everyone, I have yet to try this, but I will, and I'll try to remember to post it. Until then, check out my other Technology adventures.
